Wild Toro Review
Join us for a duel between a powerful bull and an agile matador! The two will compete for the crowd’s affection as they face off in a giant stadium full of people.
The winner will take home both the adoration of the masses and a large jackpot. Is the top prize worth entering this deadly duel?
- 2250x jackpot with medium-high variance
- 178 ways to win
- Three bonuses based around re-spins
The Spanish really have a fascination with bulls. The famous bull running festivals many towns participate in are known worldwide.
Not to mention people who enter the arena in a gaudy outfit to bait and fight bulls. Matadors use their capes to bait the bulls into charging, to then dodge and take advantages of them.
Available special features in this online slot include walking Wilds, Toro Goes Wild and the re-spins bonus.
Theme, Graphics and Sounds
ELK Studios created a quiet Spanish town to serve as the backdrop for their slot. They have clearly put a lot of effort into it, too!
It is a shame they decided to cover so much of it with the reels. The playing field is see-through, but you can miss some details because of it.
For example, you probably will not spot the chimneys blowing smoke. Not unless you are actively looking for that little detail.
You play this game on a five-reel, four-row board with 178 ways to win. The ways to win system replaces traditional paylines.
That simplifies the process of landing wins! Now, you only need three or more identical symbols next to one another.
Winning combinations also must start with the leftmost reel, or the relevant cash prize will not be awarded.
Land the Toro Wild on reel five to activate the walking Wilds special feature. The Wild will move one position to the left, grant a re-spin each time he changes position.
The bonus continues until Toro reaches the first reel. At that point, all collected wins are combined into a single bonus payout. Players cannot land another Toro Wild while the bonus is being played actively.
However, you can trigger the Toro Goes Wild special feature during walking Wilds. To achieve this, you need matador icons to appear on any of the reels during the bonus.
This will cause the bull to charge forward, attacking all matadors on the board. In doing so, a trail of Wilds will be left behind for the next re-spin. With all the matadors off the reels, the Toro Wild will return to normal.
Land three matadors on reels two, three and four to win the re-spins challenge. Matador symbols become sticky, and you get three re-spins.
You can activate the Toro Goes Wild bonus during this special feature. In fact, it makes it much easier to achieve this!
Any additional matadors that land will grant one more re-spin. The special feature ends if all re-spins are played, or the bull defeats all the matadors.
Where To Play Wild Toro?
RTP, bet sizes and volatility
The RTP for this release is 96.4%. This is above the current industry average, which sits at 96%.
Players can bet between $0.20 and $100 on each spin. You change your bet by clicking or tapping on the coins button in the lower left corner.
This opens a separate page that allows you to pick your wager and betting strategy. We like this spread of bets. It will appeal to both casual casino members and high rollers.
Your maximum win in Wild Toro is 2250x your total stake. This is a good top prize, which fits well with the medium variance.
The jackpot is perfect for mid-range players who want to win big without playing grindy slots.
Bull fighting used to be a dangerous sport. Nowadays, many measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the fighters and the animals.
As such, this game is hardly the deadly duel you may expect it to be. It can punish you if you treat it like a low variance title.
However, it is not as unforgiving as highly volatile releases tend to be. The top prize is good, and the special features are interesting.
As such, we are happy to give Wild Toro 4 out of 5 stars. Excellent work, ELK Studios!
