Wild Toro 2 Review
Time flies and Wild Toro’s first release in 2016 can prove us just that. Now, we get its sequel, Wild Toro 2, with so many incredible enhancements and extras.
Wild Toro 2 offers:
- Walking Wilds
- Expanding Reels
Wild Toro 2 is a 5×5 grid online slot with 259 pay lines developed by ELK Studios. In this game, you can benefit from five bonus features on your trip to the virtual bull ring, such as expanding reels or walking wilds.
In turn, you can extend the game area up to 502 winning ways. Better yet, you can bring more extras into play if you activate the X-iter Mode. If this sounds appealing, keep on reading to find out more!
Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
Wild Toro 2 is similar to the original release in terms of design. It features a bullfighting theme located in a colorful Spanish town.
The developers have certainly improved the soundtrack. It’s pretty immersive – you can hear a female Flamenco singer, Spanish guitar and castanets, and a male voice saying ‘Ave Maria.’
The pay symbols also went through a makeover. You can find eight comic book quality symbols. The J-A royals represent the low-paying ones, while the silver coins, gold coins, knifed oranges, and flowers deliver better rewards.
You can get the most 1.5x, 2.5x, or 5x your total stake for landing 3, 4, or 5 pink roses on a pay line, respectively.
The Wild symbol can substitute for all regulars. Still, the best part of the game is the silver and gold Matadors and the Bull, all wild, but more on the bonus symbols later.
All Toro, the Silver, and the Gold Matador are walking wilds; only the latest comes with progressive multipliers. You need to land at least one Matador symbol to trigger the Expanding Matador Respins feature.
The Matador then moves one reel left, opening up an additional row of symbols with up to eight positions until it drops off the panel. It also awards you one respin for each move.
If you land an additional Matador on the respin, you can extend the feature. As mentioned, the Golden Matador increases the multiplier by one on each movement.
When you trigger the Expanding Reels feature, you also add another row to the game grid and increase pay lines. In turn, you can benefit from 259, 340, 421, or 502 pay lines from 5, 6, 7, or 8 rows on the screen, respectively.
Toro also awards you a respin on each move it makes. However, if you land Matador and Toro simultaneously on the reels, you will trigger the Toro Goes Berzerk feature.
As in the original version, these two characters are still enemies. So, once activated, Toro knocks all Matadors off the reels. Instead, he leaves a trail of regular wild symbols behind.
Toro will inherit its multiplier if the defeated Matador is golden, known as the Matador Knockout feature. Then, it will increase the multiplier value with each move to the left.
It will also award respins in the process. If you land an additional Toro symbol on a respin, it will inherit the current multiplier from the Toro on the reels.
The black Matador symbol can trigger reel expansion, respins, and the Toro Goes Berserk feature. However, it cannot form winning combinations since it acts as a blocker and not a wild.
Finally, you can get the ELK’s X-iter feature buy menu. In the original version, there were four betting strategies, while now, there are five.
For 5x your bet, you get one spin with a 100% guaranteed win. You can also play a spin with a walking wild added for 25x, known as Sticky Wilds.
The Bonus triggers the Toro Goes Berzerk feature for 100x your stake. The Big Bonus lets you play three spins with an added Walking Wild for 250x.
Finally, for 500x your bet, you can get the Super Bonus – three spins with sticky wilds and persistent super multipliers.
Where To Play Wild Toro 2?
RTP, Bet Sizes, and Volatility
Wild Toro 2 offers an RTP of 95%, while the original version provides 96.4%. The developers further combined this with high volatility, which is quite a downgrade.
You can bet as low as $0.20 and as high as $100 per spin as a player. With a 22.1% hit frequency rate, you can expect to land a winning combination on every four to five spins.
However, that’s in the longer term. The most you can expect on a single spin is 10,000x your total stake.
Wild Toro 2 is quite the upgrade from the original version in terms of visuals and sounds. Still, the main action once again revolves around the walking wilds and respins.
You can benefit from different features and win up to 10,000x from a single spin as a player. See, Wild Toro offered 2,250x, so this is much better.
Even so, the developers decreased the RTP, now being below average. There are also no free spins. Basically, you will like the sequel if you like the first version. Overall, we give this game 4 out of 5 stars.
