Themes, Graphics, and Sounds
Dead Man’s Trail’s setting is against a backdrop of a stormy port. In the background, you can see high mountains covered in fog. Overall, this is a stylish-looking slot that has a bit of Pirates of the Caribbean spirit.
On the paytable are eight paying symbols, split into low-paying and high-paying ones. As usual, the lower-paying symbols are represented by A-J Royals, whereas the higher-paying symbols consist of four fearless pirates.
The most lucrative symbol is the bald, tattooed pirate with scars; by landing 3, 4, or 5 matching symbols of him, you’ll be awarded up to 1x, 5x, or 30x your total stake.
The game’s Wild symbol is the golden W, which substitutes the regular paying symbols form winning combos, and it pays out up to 2x, 10x, or 60x your stake if you land 3, 4, or 5 Wilds.
Dead Man’s Trail has three slightly unusual, Bonus features. First on the list is the Coin feature. This feature triggers when you land at least three matching Special Coin symbols.
The Coin symbols come with a cash value attached to them, and their values can add together and deliver bigger cash prizes. Next is the Trail Bonus feature that activates three or more Bonus symbols across a pay line.
The players play this Bonus game on a map that is covered in a trail. A number between one and nine is revealed on each spin, and it moves the player around the track.
What’s most exciting is the Mystery Chest. By landing on a Mystery Chest, you win one of the eleven modifiers.
First is the Scout modifier that boosts the value of a tile by 100, 200, 500, or even 1000x the stake. Next is the Persistent Scout that is the same as the Scout, only it acts at the end.
Then there is the One-Eye modifier that repeats 2-4 times, and it multiplies the value of a tile between 2x and 5x. The Persistent One-Eye is the same as One-Eye, but again, it only acts at the end.
The Commander modifier boosts the value of every tile by 3, 4, or 5x. We have the same situation with the Persistent Commander, which acts at the end in the same way. The Collector adds together the values of the Normal tiles and pays out a win.
Furthermore, the Collect & Command modifier combines the values of Normal tiles and adds them together. There are still three more modifiers.
One of them is the Reset modifier which replaces the end tiles with Normal ones but with coin values.
Another modifier is the Super Reset that offers the end tiles to be replaced with Mystery Chests, but only temporarily.
Last is the Coin Win modifier that delivers a payout of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50x the stake and is added to the total win.
The Trail Bonus feature can be purchased for 100x the stake due to the slot’s Bonus Buy feature.
