Bust the Mansion Review

Daring and well-planned heists always provide an intriguing, exciting and adrenaline-rushing experience. Multiple providers have found inspiration in thefts to develop appealing games, and they remain an exciting motif for slot providers.

The guys from Microgaming and Pulse 8 Studios deliver Bust the Mansion, a decent game, not too different from other titles with the same theme.

The publisher announced it to be released February 17th and we can safely say it will not introduce any groundbreaking changes. It is an average-looking game with solid win potential and fairly typical Link&Win features.

  • A highly volatile slot with a 10,000x maximum payout
  • Twenty-five paylines
  • Link&Win Bonus round and Free Spins

Microgaming released a Bust the Bank slot back in 2013, and Bust the Mansion looks like it was released simultaneously. The graphics are good but do not seem as crisp as in other slots from this provider.

We do not see much of the mansion in question, except for windows and stairways. There are a few pleasant surprises along the way and a solid maximum win of 10,000x the bet.

However, the online slot does not offer anything new, sporting basic Link&Win features and Free Spins. The high volatility will not make the heist an easy job, making the wins sweeter when they come. Do you have what it takes to pull off such a bold venture and bring the loot home?

Theme, Graphics and Sounds

The casino game is well-designed, but it is far from the best Microgaming slots in that respect. It evokes the feeling of nostalgia, looking like an older console game, which might be an asset in this context.

The unpolished visuals make the game look natural, but it is also unoriginal, not providing innovations compared to similar slots. The soundtrack is well-incorporated, providing a smooth ride and fitting the atmosphere.

Given the theme, we expected it to be riskier and bolder, with a betting range that is not as narrow. Still, it is a game that can appeal to everyone, with an interesting topic and a solid maximum win.

A few appealing perks might attract large audiences, but it is unlikely the game will be revolutionary in any way. Moreover, we do not expect it to top any lists.

The action occurs on a standard game grid with five reels, three rows and twenty-five paylines. The lower end of the paytable begins with five royals (10-A), worth between 1 and 2.4x the stake.

Additionally, premium symbols include a Rosetta Stone, a Ming Vase, a Faberge Egg and an Egyptian Art symbol. They grant 6x-20x for a five-of-a-kind win.

Wild symbols replace all the rest, except for Scatters and Money Vault icons that trigger the Link&Win Bonus. Five Wilds on a payline are worth 400x the stake, making it the most lucrative icon in the game.

In-game features

Money Vault symbols hit the reels carrying a pre-determined value, with six of them activating the Link&Win feature. The icons that triggered the feature remain locked with three initially awarded spins.

Every Money Vault symbol that follows turns sticky and resets the spin tally to three. The round finishes when there are no more respins, and the total prize amounts are paid out.

There are four fixed Jackpot awards when Bonus Money Vault symbols land, including Mini, Minor, Major and Mega Jackpot.

They amount to 20x, 50x, 200x, and 1,000x, respectively. If you fill all the positions on the grid, you will receive the Grand Prize worth 5,000x the bet.

Bust the Mansion Free Spins

If three to five Golden Key Scatters appear on the reels, you trigger ten, fifteen or twenty-five free spins, respectively. A unique reel containing Money Vault symbols only comes into play during this round.

It helps you activate the Link&Win feature, with the Wilds replacing all the regular symbols. Furthermore, if three or four Scatter symbols hit the reels, they retrigger the Free Spins round.

Where To Play Bust the Mansion?

RTP, bet sizes and volatility

The RTP Bust the Mansion offers is 96.23%, going slightly above the industry standard. In addition, the players will be satisfied with the winning possibilities the developer provides, granting the hit frequency of 35.11%.

It means you will need less than three spins on average to score, a genuinely fantastic opportunity to grab some wins.

There are multiple betting possibilities, with the lowest possible bet of $0.25 and the highest of $25. Even though this is not a game for high rollers, it might attract them due to a decent maximum win.

However, the payout of 10,000x the bet is not enough per se, though not investing too much money has its perks.

Bust the Mansion has very high volatility, which we imagine will scare off some casual players. However, they could try due to solid winning potential and the highest bet of $25. It will not be easy, and they will need luck, but fortune favors the bold.

Verdict

This slot could be a great game with a few twists and turns and a potentially intriguing feature or two. However, everything about it is adequate and decent, but nothing more.

While it does not have any glaring and shattering drawbacks, it does not have plenty to show for, either. It starts promisingly and shows potential, but it does not live up to it.

The developer could have made it ten years ago, and nobody would be able to tell the difference. It might be interesting for a short while, but in the long run, it is a snoozefest. Our rate is 3 out of 5 stars.
