SkillOnNet Ready to Launch New iGaming Brands in Ontario

Published: May 15, 2022

Good news for all fans of Ontario online casinos, as more brands are coming to the country’s most populous province.

SkillOnNet has recently received the necessary regulatory approval to debut three new online casinos in the provincial newly regulated market, launched on April 4.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has greenlighted three licenses for the operator. One license was awarded to SkillOnNet, while two cover the SlotsMagic and SpinGenie brands.

All of these licenses will be valid for a year, expiring on May 1, 2023. As previously mentioned, after years of preparation, Ontario launched its regulated market in early April.

Unibet, BetRivers, theScore, PointsBet, 888 Casino, Bet365, LeoVegas, Bwin, BetMGM, FanDuel, and Caesars secured their licenses on the market’s launch day, while many others joined later. The list of more recent approvals includes North Star, Wazdan, and Betway.

The initial plans to end the lottery’s online gambling monopoly in Ontario were revealed in mid-2019. Standards for online gaming and betting were made public in September 2021.

They included several important provisions, such as limits related to the design of games, and the autoplay ban, while operators were required to become part of an integrity body.
