Kindred Secures Ontario Online Gambling and Sports Betting Licence
Published: April 3, 2022
Kindred is set to expand its North American presence after receiving the iGaming license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Thanks to this move, the company will be able to offer an Ontario online casino to customers in Canada’s most populous province when the new market goes live on April 4.
Ontario will become the seventh North American market where Kindred is represented by its Unibet brand.
Ontarians will access the Unibet online gambling and sports betting products through the on.unibet.ca site, while mobile apps for iOS and Android will become available after the launch.
The list of approved operators includes theScoreBet, PointsBet, Rivalry Corp, FansUnite, FanDuel, Kambi, Rush, Street, GGPoker, BetMGM, 888 casino, Bet365, Play ’n Go, and Leo Vegas. 888 and GGPoker are the first poker operators to receive the AGCO authorization.
The regulator has recently announced new guidance, whose aim was to warn operators to cease any unregulated activities before the market goes live.
Here’s what Amanda Brewer from Kindred Group had to say about the latest move:
This is an exciting day and a significant milestone for both Kindred and Unibet. We are proud to have received permission to launch in Ontario on the first day the market opens and look forward to building long-term relationships with our customers and partners. The iGaming market in Ontario is expected to be one of the largest in North America, which makes it a truly interesting proposition for Kindred.
