Former UFC fighter arrested at a Las Vegas casino
Published: November 27, 2021
Anthony Rocco Martin, a former UFC fighter, was arrested at a Las Vegas casino after reportedly urinating on a floor. He also punched a security member who reacted upon seeing him.
Martin, who had recorded seventeen wins before he stopped competing, was pronounced a persona non grata at Caesar’s Palace.
Patrons there witnessed the unfortunate event on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 12:45 AM. The police arrived to perform the arrest about forty-five minutes later, which they did, charging Martin with battery and lewd conduct.
A hotel guest saw Martin urinating in a casino hallway, prompting security officers to ask him to leave. He turned it down and then didn’t produce identification and threatened them, becoming visibly hostile.
Martin proceeded to punch the Security Manager Nathan Wilson in the throat. According to the report, the perpetrator has rejected the notion he did anything wrong, insisting he had been wrongfully accused and racially profiled.
The report claimed Martin to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or both. It will be difficult for him to prove his innocence, for the footage showing him defiling the casino floor allegedly exists.
Martin was released from detention and is expected to appear in court on January 19 for various wellness checks.
He left UFC in January 2021, after fighting his final bout under contract in June 2020. Martin recorded notable wins against Ryan Laflare, Jake Matthews, Ramazan Emeev and Sergio Morales.
After the exit, he had serious health issues, including knee surgery and an infection that triggered more complications. Finally, he stopped competing altogether.
Anthony Rocco Martin recorded fifteen bouts under the UFC banner from February 2014 to June 2020. This native of Palos Heights, Illinois, has unanimously lost his last fight at UFC 250 and finished his spell with seventeen wins.
